Story behind takolink
As product designers, Takolink started purely out of our own needs. We often have team meetings and brainstorming sessions, but most of us don’t enjoy making PowerPoints. Instead, our meetings are really about sharing inspiration we’ve collected on our phones. That’s when we thought: what if there was a super simple device to cast our phones onto a screen and could be taken everywhere?
To be honest, the development has taken way more effort than we imagined. To avoid the high cost of molds, our current prototype is still in a 3D-printed shell.
We’re not sure yet if this project will ever pay for itself, but once we built it, everyone on the team fell in love with it. It’s made our meetings so much better. And beyond work, it’s sparked countless “story nights,” where we each take turns sharing photos from our phones. Those moments have brought us closer together — and gave us the passion to share this product with more people.
